11 Unknown facts about Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler was one of the main reasons behind the outbreak of World War II. Born on
April 20th, 1889 in Austria(then part of Austria-Hungary), he later moved to Germany in 1913. His charismatic figure found him many followers in Germany. Even more than half a century after his death, Hitler still remains one of the most talked-about figures. Here are 11 unknown facts about him.



1. He was Lazy

It might be surprising to know that how a person who shook the whole world and caused a war can be lazy. Hitler was lazy and he rarely exercised. He had an odd schedule and he slept and worked at odd hours of the day. Furthermore, he used to have a car behind him whenever he walked downhill to take him back up.

2. He didn't drink or smoke

Hitler never smoked or drank in his entire lifetime, neither did he allowed people to smoke in his presence.

3. He was a drug user

Although Hitler never drank or smoke instead he did use other illicit substances. It is believed that Hiler did 82 different types of drugs. According to recent research, his physician, Theodor Morell, injected him with various drugs, including morphine, cocaine and oxycodone.

4. He suffered from Parkinson's disease

Although he was never diagnosed, he had many symptoms of the disease. He had tremors in his left hand and leg. Apart from this, his health was pretty bad, he often had stomach issues, dysentery, High Blood Pressure and really bad teeth.

5. He never visited a single concentration camp

The Holocaust is the most talked about and appaling legacy of his rule but he never actually visited any of his concentration camps. It seems that Hitler was happy to conduct the genocidal project at an arm's length.

6. He was once spared by a British soldier

Adolf Hitler, who was responsible for mercilessly killing of millions of Jews was once spared by a British soldier named Henry Tandey during World War II.

7. He had one testicle

Yes Adolf Hitler had one testicle. The British army even wrote the song "Hitler Has Only Got One Ball" to mock Nazi leaders. This song was generally sung as four-line verses to the tune of the "Colonel Bogey March".

8. Hitler's Nobel Jew

Hitler spared the life of a Jewish-Austrian doctor named Eduard Bloch who treated his family. Hitler provided Bloch special protection after the Nazi annexation of Austria. He later came to be known as Nobel Jew of Hitler.

9. He was Time's "Man of The Year" in 1938

A year before he led Germany to war, Time magazine awarded Hitler with the "Man of the Year" award. Time claims that this award is not meant to be given as an endorsement, instead it is a measure of newsworthiness and impact of an individual.

10. He suffered from Ailurophobia (Fear of cats)

He used to fear cats and apart from him other people who also suffered from this were Mussolini, Napoleon and Alexander the Great.

11. He was married for less than a day

Adolf Hitler and Eva Braun were married for less than a day. They married a night before they committed suicide on April 19th, 1945. Hitler told Eva to run away but she resisted and committed suicide by consuming a cyanide capsule.
